Sociálně-populační rozvinutost periferních, semiperiferních a střediskových sídel okresu Klatovy
HOUDKOVÁ, Barbora
The bachelor thesis focuses on the evaluation of human, demographic and social capital of remote (peripheral) types of settlements of the Klatovsky District. First, settlement centres are defined and their hierarchy is established (micro-regional cities, very small towns, townshops, townvillages and larger villages) according to four indicators of centrality (population, number of types of selected services, number of commutes for work and to schools, and number of public transport links). Subsequently, the peripheral settlements of the micro-regional level are defined on the basis of the insufficient number of public transport links to micro-regional cities and too long time spent on the journey in these links. In the vicinity of microregional cities are defined suburbia/suburban settlements. The remaining settlements are semi-peripheral settlements. In the final, the human, demographic and social capital of individual remote types of settlements and peripheral areas of settlements is analysed. In addition to 3 microregional towns (Klatovy, Sušice, Horažďovice), one very small town (Nýrsko), 5 townships (Janovice nad Úhlavou, Švihov, Železná Ruda, etc.), 14 townvillages and 18 larger villages were defined. Quite large peripheral areas were found in the border with Bavaria. Microregional cities have favourable values of education, suburban settlements are characterized by favorable population development and by higher proportion of children, semi-peripheral settlements have a favorable age structure and significant activities of associations. Peripheral settlements had surprisingly favorable population development.
Studying settlement systems with mobile positioning data
Šimbera, Jan ; Hudeček, Tomáš (advisor) ; Burian, Jaroslav (referee) ; Šveda, Martin (referee)
Settlement systems, the large-scale manifestation of the spatial organization of human society, are the frequent object of human geography studies. Mobile positioning data have been used in recent decades as a unique source on human activities in space, but robust methodologies to generate datasets from them that would be comparable in accuracy to conventional sources such as census data or travel diaries have still been lacking. This thesis aims to bridge the gap by describing in detail how to generate population distribution and commuting datasets from mobile positioning sources with the mentioned accuracy using ma- chine learning and ancillary geospatial data, including proper treatment of data privacy and artifacts inherent to mobile positioning, and to illustrate their ca- pabilities by building hierarchical settlement system models from them. Several further possible refinements are presented and discussed. 1
Central securities depository
Skalný, Jan ; Seknička, Pavel (advisor) ; Dupáková, Lenka (referee)
Central securities depository Abstract The topic of this diploma thesis is the person of a central securities depository, with a specific focus on its legal regulation. In relation to this topic, two main areas are accentuated - on the one hand, the authorisation procedure of a central securities depository and, on the other hand, its subsequent functioning. The aim of the paper is to comprehensively cover all relevant aspects of the legislation, to reflect on its suitability, assess its necessity, analyse its current issues, and also present its potential future direction. The thesis contains an introduction, five systematically segmented chapters and a conclusion. The first chapter serves as an obligatory introduction to the subject and at first deals with the definition of the financial and capital market. In the second subchapter of this chapter, a brief introduction to the central securities depository and a description of its position within the latter mentioned market takes place. This chapter is then concluded by a segment concerning supervision and its genesis in the Czech Republic. The second chapter tackles the procedure for the authorisation to operate a central securities depository, analysing both the already repealed domestic legislation and the regulation coming from the representatives of...
DOPRAVNÍ HIERARCHIE STŘEDISEK OSÍDLENÍ V JIHOČESKÉM KRAJI A JEJÍ VÝVOJ OD ROKU 2000
ŠARVAIC, Lukáš
This bachelor's thesis deals with transport hierarchy of settlement centers in South-Bohemian region and its development since 2000. In this theses are used a transport-geographic methods commonly used in the study of transport geography. Theoretical part is focused especially around study of transport hierarchy, its connections to urban geography and main factors affecting the final form of transport hierarchy of settlement centers. The analytical part of this theses analyzes the long-term development of the transport hierarchy through the size hierarchy of the files for each mean of transport with comparison to complex hierarchy of centers, both graphically and in tables. Furthermore, there are analyzed the main changes in transport hierarchy of settlement centers in years 2010 and 2016. Data from the National Traffic Census on the Road and Highway Network of the Czech republic published by the Road and Motorway Directorate were used for this analysis. These data were processed and expressed both in tables and graphs, and in cartographic form.
VARIANTS OF REILLY'S MODEL IN THE STUDY OF SETTLEMENT SYSTEM OF SOUTH BOHEMIAN REGION
ZLESÁK, Lukáš
The bachelor thesis deals with the application of Reilly's model on the settlement system of South Bohemian Region. The theoretical aspect focuses on treatment of the issue of the settlement system and gravity models, with an emphasis on Reilly's model. The specific focus of the research is municipalities with extended competences in the South Bohemian Region. Their significance in the settlement system is first calculated by the method of theoretical spatial interactions, subsequently regionalised catchment area of selected centers based on basic and calibrated version of the Reilly´s model. The results of the research are graphically represented by map outputs and summary tables. The synthesis focuses on comparison of the model regions and administrative divisions, with formation of suitable model variants. Key words: gravitational models, Reilly's law, regionalization, settlement system,South Bohemian Region
Changes of Regional and Settlement Pattern of Serbia after 1991 in the Context of the Split of Yugoslavia
Vukadinovič, Marko ; Tomeš, Jiří (advisor) ; Vrtiška, Tomáš Josef (referee)
Changes of regional and settlement pattern of Serbia after 1991 in the context of the split of Yugoslavia Abstract This thesis presents changes of regional and settlement pattern of Serbia with a special emphasis on migration after war events evoked by splitting of former Yugoslavia in the 90's. It researches age structure of refugees and internally displaced persons and mainly their influence on demographic growth of Serbia and analyses their dependence of their location on chosen geographical and economical indicators. It will also show the situation of refugees in the new millennium considering their repatriation or naturalization. The last part finds out, if there is a noticeable amount of refugee population living in temporary conditions and how works the cooperation between the state and organizations, which are supposed to reduce number of refugees and internally displaced persons. Key words: changes, regional pattern, settlement system, migration, war splitting of Yugoslavia
The construction of the risk surcharges for the imbalances trading on OTE market
Maštalíř, Jakub ; Brada, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Blaheta, Petr (referee)
This master thesis approaches the energy markets from the point of view of an electricity trader acting on the retail markets, in particular an electricity supplier to the end customers. The first part introduces the reader into the basic practices applied in the management process of the portfolio of end customers, which includes metering and evaluation of the real take-off, planning and prediction and, of course, final evaluation of the imbalances. Second part explains the principles of balance management in case of the entire ČEPS electrical grid, mechanics of the imbalances settlement and describes its actual setting with focus on the way it motivates the market participants for minimization of their own imbalances and therefore improvement of the overall electrical grid balance. The final part describes the basic construction of the risk surcharges, which the supplier adds to the commodity price to cover the costs caused by the existence of his end customers' imbalances. Furthermore, it is shown how the dependence on the system imbalance influences the size of the risk surcharge and the basic model is extended to include even this factor. Because the supplier does not set the surcharge at the level of individual end customer but for the entire portfolio, the functioning and power of the portfolio effect, which brings an extra savings in the imbalances settlement costs, is also explored in the final part. The possibility of dependence presence in the imbalances of individual end customers is also accounted for. For the first time in the Czech academic literature the economic problems that are faced by the electricity supplier to the end customers are examined and the analysis and solution of one important problem is provided in the full picture. However, the most important contribution of this master thesis lays in the opening of this topic to further examination on the academic ground.
Identification of urban axes in settlement system of the Czech republic
NERAD, Jiří
This bachelor thesis deals with urban axes of the settlement system of the Czech Republic. Before the analysis of urban axes the evolution of spatial and relational organization within settlement systems is described. Periodization of the development of the settlement systesms is made by three-stage model, wich generalizes their evolution into three stages: pre-industrial, industrial and post-industrial stage. A part of this chapter is also and outline of the some specifics and controlled deformations in the development of the Czech settlement structure. Another chapter discusses the theoretical basis of the spatial inter-urban interactions with an emphasis on commuting to work and transport interactions. The methodology part presents the methods of the spatial urban axes definition and also describes the data base including its shortcomings. The first analytical part deals briefly with nodal interactions of the settlement system and defines basic attributes of the Czech settlement structure. The main empirical part of the bachelor thesis then analyzes "overnodal" relations in the Czech settlement system. These relations are followed up in the form of daily transport and commuting interactions between settlements. Based on its reciprocal inter-urban intensity are in the final phase of work defined main urban axes with the complex interdependence.

KOLÁŘOVÁ, Kateřina
The aim of this work is based on detailed analysis of long-term population developmnet of Veselí nad Moravou illustrate the roots of its present condition, size and position in the settlement system of the Czech republic and the Southern Region. The organization of settlement system in the Czech republic has its roots especially in the industrial period ? the 19th and 20th century. During this period each settlement has undergone a development which has been influenced by many aspects (economic, political, social, cultural or natural. The core work is the development of mapping population size in Veselí nad Moravou, the generalization of long-term trends and tendencies of development, finding the key determinants and causes of the current situation.
Rural settlement and sustainability
Vaishar, Antonín ; Zapletalová, Jana
The conditions of sustainability of the Czech rural settlement are discussed in the paper. The ratio of rural population is still slightly increasing in the Czech Republic. The lower qualification structure seems to be a problem. In the system of settlements, the countryside offers an alternative lifestyle, closer contact with the nature and preservation of regional identity in the globalization process.
